Arjun Kapoor made his acting debut in Ishqzaade (2012) followed by commercial successes like Gunday, 2 States and Ki & Ka. He is the son of Boney Kapoor and Mona Shourie Kapoor. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Arjun Kapoor admits to not liking the social media and PR culture actors follow today.
Arjun Kapoor on PR culture
When asked about today’s PR culture, paparazzi or social media, Arjun Kapoor joked, “Agar hum nahi karenge toh Bollywood Bubble bhi suffer karega. Am I right?” However, on a serious note he continued, “I mean today, it is circle literally…..Yeh nahi hoga toh yeh nahi hoga toh hum nahi honge, audience tak kaise pahuchenge? Toh ek changul hai, complex hai very tough to explain without going into the details of it. But I would say, there is a certain amount of need kuch logo ko acha lagta hai toh zyada karte hai, kuch logo ko lagta hai toh kam karte hai.”
Adding further, he said, “Whatever suits you, eventually putting yourself out there aap dikhaawa daaloge toh it will get exposed. I would say, if you are authentic enough then you can maintain less PR also and achieve a lot. Some people enjoy, some people thrive from the energy they get back from feedback and this culture. As long as your work is still at the forefront of it, yeh sab hone ke baad agar aapka kaam pe dhyaan nahi de paa rahe ho, yaa aapka kaam bol nahi paa raha hai toh dhindhora mat peeto naa. Uske baad bhi kitna bhi peetloge toh woh khokhla hoga that’s all.”
Concluding Arjun said, “I enjoy certain aspects of it, and some I don’t. But when you are doing a film, you have to do everything. But then you should you what kind of a person you are after the film releases and then take a step back and decide what you can do, do whatever you are comfortable with.”
